What are video games?

Well, according to my dictionary, they are "any of various games involving images, controlled by players, on a cathode-ray tube or electronic screen". But, who would just get any old dictionary on a cold Monday morning to JUST see what video games stood for? That's why I did it for you. So you don't have to.

Anyways, the definition gives you an IDEA of a video game, but not the real thing. I just want to say right now that if you've never watched a video game or played one there is something seriously wrong with you. No offense.

I've got off topic again.....The first video game was made by Willy Higinbotham (according to Infoplease.com) He made a tennis-like game played on the oscilloscope. And oscilloscope is an"electronic device used to produce visual displays corresponding to electrical signals". Just thought you might want to know.

What are some modern-day video games?

Well, there are many different video games that have evolved over the years. There are games such as Fifa '09, Mass Effect, and the ever-popular series Half-Life. These games were given VERY high ranks by even the toughest critics. We'll get back to modern-day games later.

Can some be worth good money?

It depends on how you feel about the game. Probably the most-needed money to play is World of Warcraft. Although its "pretty" pictures of its gameplay, there is in small print on the bottom-right of the box that says "Additional fees apply". What that means is that you have to pay $20 every month just to play it. Over one year, you'd end of paying $240. Check please, table one!

But some games are different. For instance, the Halo Combat Evolved game I bought was $15 at GameStop. And there was no "Additional fees apply" on the box. And there are other games such as Age of Empire that runs to about $10. Like I said, it depends on how much cash you have and how you feel about the game.
